Fans of musicians are always looking for new ways to enjoy their favorite artists. From listening to covers of the artists songs to dressing or styling themselves in the manner of the artist and learning their dance moves to owning every album and single ever released. This was the case with a young Sergio Cortes.
From the age of five, Sergio Cortes had a growing fascination with Michael Jackson that lead him to cover all the typical fandom bases.
Catching every performance of the Jackson 5 on television, to listening to albums on repeat, and even practicing the mannerisms and dance moves of Jackson. By the time Cortes was a teenager he resembled the pop singer so strikingly that he was asked to pose for a photograph, pretending to be Michael Jackson. This photograph went viral in an instant and lead Cortes to uncharted territory.
What started with the photograph of Sergio Cortes posed as the King of Pop was the ultimate way to show affection and appreciation for your favorite singer. Impersonation is said to be the ultimate form of flattery, and Cortes was offered a career being a celebrity impersonator of Michael Jackson. Destiny Projects Entertainment manages Sergio Cortes’s career, helping to bring his talent to fans worldwide.
Fans from all over come to watch his performance. While no one can ever bring Michael Jackson back to life, fans and performers alike relive the spirit of the late singer. Backup dancers, lights, music and Cortes’s moves and voice combine into an awesome energy that keep fans coming back for more. Cortes’s latest show is “In Human Nature Live”, currently set to tour Italy performing with his band and dancers. Perhaps one of the most iconic Jackson songs ever, Thriller, is part of this set and is sure to please.
Few people ever get the chance to pursue their dream careers, fewer still grow up to be pop-stars. What happened to Sergio Cortes gave him the opportunity to do both and exceed all expectations. He does not forget his humble start, or the late singer who started it all. In the spirit of Michael Jackson’s charity and love for kids, Cortes supports causes to give back to the world.
It is not a secret that many famous people have numerous impersonators who also manage to attract many fans. There have been even more attempts to imitate the celebrities who passed away in order to commemorate their memory and make people never forget them. For instance, Michael Jackson was known as the King of Pop , and today he has many impersonators who are able to imitate him through different stages. However, there are not many who are quite as convincing as Sergio Cortes.
Sergio Cortes was born in Barcelona in 1971. He is a client for a company that specializes in managing artistic development and represents many individuals in their artistic endeavors. Through his love and passion for his work, he has changed the lives of many and is known as being one of the best impersonators in the world. He has constructed a way of looking like Jackson through make-up, and not only are physical similarities obvious, but he also perfectly matches Michael’s unique voice. He started imitating Michael in his teens, which later resulted in many invitations to work. As a fan of Michael growing up with his two brothers, Sergio Cortes started to wear similar clothes as his favorite singer and let his hair down. He even made his smooth voice sound like Michael as time passed. He also led the same solitary life, with just few real friends .
His similarity with Michael Jackson is undeniable, and we can say that his impersonation is almost perfect. If it weren’t for the fact that the real Michael died, you could easily confuse them in person. His live creations of Michael Jackson videos are performed in many parts of the world. When you are looking at his shows, you can see that his performance is breathtaking, he moves in the same way as Michael did, and if Michael was alive, he would certainly be proud of Sergio. When fans watch his performances , their memories from the past are revived. Just take a look at his picture. You can see the same eyes, nose, skin color, and even the same haircut. His career began when he was asked to have a photo-shoot, and since then he became the most successful impersonator with over 16 000 followers on Facebook.
So, if you want to see the stunning performance that recreates the unique music and moves of the legendary pop icon, then you should see one of Sergio’s shows . Once you see his performance, you’ll become his fan too.
Major music news at the end of last year was Taylor Swift withdrawing all of her albums from Spotify, as she felt artists were not getting the compensation they deserved when their music was played. The big news this week is Taylor Swift’s music is back on a streaming service, but not on Spotify. Instead, the singer has put her music on Hov’s music-streaming service TIDAL.
Fans, however, are still in for a disappointment as, although all of Taylor’s older albums are available for streaming on TIDAL, they will not find her latest album 1989 there. Even though TIDAL mistakenly had a link listed to the album for a few hours yesterday.
TIDAL, of course, is owned by American rapper Jay Z, so it probably is not that surprising Swift has allowed the service to have her music. After all, TIDAL is already offering artists a larger revenue share than Spotify pays, and plans to increase incentives in the future as well.
With a base subscription fee of $19.99 a month, however, TIDAL may just end up with the revenue to be able to beat Spotify, as well as pull in even more artists disgruntled by what they perceive as low compensation for their music.
One implication is that songwriters accused of lifting material from other artists may start to make settlements to avoid going to trial. Such settlements could consist of a lump sum payment to an artist or estate or of adding an artist to the list of songwriters of the more recent song.
Since there is a three year statue of limitations on music copyright-infringement suits, artists like Chuck Berry and the Beach Boys who recorded their songs decades ago and are frequently ripped off can’t go after recent songs stated Marcio Alaor BMG
The “Blurred Lines” verdict was not a foregone conclusion. Michael Jackson fought off similar lawsuits on more than one occasion. In any event, Mavin Gaye’s two children (his estate) were the big winners in the trial. Thicke and Pharrell say their consciences are clear, but they now owe 7.3 million dollars. I wonder how much of that will go end up going to the lawyers.
Fans may not have thought that it was possible, but Nicki Minaj has managed to expose more of herself with her new single. This time it wasn’t her derriere on display though. It was her heart. She makes it clear that she is calling out an ex as she builds more anticipation for the upcoming ‘Pink Print’ album.
The single, ‘Bed of Lies,’ was premiered on the EMAs that Nicki hosted, but this was only a snippet. I listened to the full version of the song – featuring Skylar Grey – with Jared Haftel twice, since it’s the only thing we’ll have until the album release. According to reports from CNN, the song appears to be about an ex that used Nicki Minjai for connections in the industry. No name is mentioned, but the breakup rumors are brewing in large amounts.
It is another storytelling twist in the diversity of the Nicki Minaj promotion vehicle. The star has all but confused fans as she has went from thought provoking (‘Pills N Potions’) to booty shaking (‘Anaconda’) to scandalous (‘Only’) all in the course of a couple of months. Now she is back to thought provoking again with ‘Bed of Lies.’
The constant switch up is probably the angle that Nicki Minaj plays because it attracts a diverse audience. She shows this type of split personality that comes out when she raps. She has mellowed out as she prepares for the upcoming December album release.
Controversy is not a stranger to Nicki Minaj. Most of it revolves around accusations of copying Lil Kim and overt sexuality in her body of work. Her body is also game for controversy due to plastic surgery and how she displays herself to the world. Now, the addition of Nazi and fascist imagery overall has upped the ante.
She has publicly apologized and assumed responsibility for the backlash to the Nazi imagery shown in the lyric video “Only.” She has also stated that the visuals of the video were inspired by Metalocalypse, an Adult Swim cartoon that does feature an international private army completely devoted to a metal band and the ideals they represent.
I cannot attest to her private intentions, but trying to put distance between herself and that imagery is as good business sense as Dave and Brit Morin. Consumers are fickle when it comes to celebrities. Chris Brown and R. Kelly still have an audience despite their checkered pasts. She has to bow to public pressure to come up with something to maintain her livelihood.
On the other hand, the director and visual artist for the video Jeff Osborne outright says that the images are reflective of Nazism and defends their use as a history lesson through popular media. He has the luxury of being blunt because he is not a performer like Minaj. It is her image on the news page, not his image. It is a little unfair that he has the room to be completely honest, while she has to clean up the mess.
